Synopsis :
Urodził się z niechcianym darem, potrafi z łatwością rozpoznawać potomstwo aniołów i demonów, kroczące po ziemi w osłonie ludzkiego ciała. Niesamowite, kryształowo wyraźne wizje pchnęły Constantina (Keanu Reeves) ku samobójstwu. Niestety, próba się nie udała. Odratowany wbrew swej woli ponownie znajduje się w świecie żywych. Na zawsze naznaczony jest już piętnem samobójcy, przemierza ziemskie granice pomiędzy piekłem a niebem. Rozczarowany światem, w sporze z zaświatami, mocno pije, ostro żyje, zaśmiewa się do łez z samej idei bohaterstwa. Constantine będzie walczył o twoją duszę, ale nie potrzebuje ani podziwu, ani podziękowań; a już na pewno nie chce współczucia.. Chce jedynie wytchnienia. Kiedy zdesperowana i sceptyczna detektyw policyjna (Rachel Weisz jako Angela Dodson) nakłania go do pomocy w sprawie zagadkowej śmierci jej bliźniaczej siostry (w tej roli także Weisz), śledztwo wiedzie wprost do świata demonów i aniołów.
